The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) might think you cannot work or take part in ‘work-related activity’. In this case you will go into the ‘support group’ for Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) or you will get the ‘limited capability for work-related activity’ element of Universal Credit (UC).

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) might think you cannot work or take part in ‘work-related activity’. In this case you will go into the ‘support group’ for Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) or you will get the limited capability for work-related activity element of Universal Credit (UC). The amount of money you get each week will be more if you receive either of these.

If you are in the support group or get this element, you don’t have to take part in any interviews with the DWP until your claim is renewed. But if you would like their help to find a job you can still access their Work Programme scheme.
