There is a benefit cap, which is the most money you can get from the following benefits:

  • Universal Credit

Below is the most money you will get every week / month when claiming Universal Credit (UC):

If you’re a single adult living in the UK, but outside of London, are aged 18 or over (there are some exceptions if you’re 16 or 17), under State Pension age and have £16,000 or less in money, savings and investments.

Earn £257.69 per week or £1,116.67 a month

If you’re a single adult living in the UK within London, are aged 18 or over (there are some exceptions if you’re 16 or 17), under State Pension age and have £16,000 or less in money, savings and investments.

Earn £296.35 per week or £1,284.17 a month

If you are a single parent and your children live with you, you live in the UK, but outside of London, are aged 18 or over (there are some exceptions if you’re 16 or 17), under State Pension age and have £16,000 or less in money, savings and investments.

Earn £384.62 per week or £1666.67 a month

If you are a single parent and your children live with you, you live in the UK, within London, are aged 18 or over (there are some exceptions if you’re 16 or 17), under State Pension age and have £16,000 or less in money, savings and investments.

Earn £442.31 per week or £1916.67 a month
