If you are unwell because of your mental health, you might need some extra help with managing your money. This might be because you are in the hospital, or you might struggle with bills or paperwork, or find it hard to control your spending.

There are a number of different ways that you can give permission to your carer, friend or relative so they can help you with your finances.

If you become very unwell and lose capacity to make decisions about your finances, your carer, friend or relative can make an application themselves to manage your money.
